New Year Tree Forest

The Traditional New Year's Gathering, initiated by Maçka Art Gallery with the gallery's architect Mehmet Konuralp in order to meet architecture and art, comes to life this year with the collective exhibition project of architect Ömer Selçuk Baz. Ömer Selçuk Baz, who was invited to design a new year tree, expanded the project and opened it to the participation of nearly 40 architects, designers, and artists. Each artist has designed their own 8 cm long new year trees. The traditional New Year's Gathering of Maçka Art Gallery turns into a demonstration of how artists rethink the common objects and nature. The “New Year Tree Forest” exhibition, also refers to the power of little things like the small ceramics that make up the walls of Maçka Art Gallery, and opens its doors to nearly 40 artists, welcoming the new year with the power of unity. Ömer Selçuk Baz, who developed the exhibition project points out “What we see in this gallery is mind-opening to grasp the diversity of looking at a subject matter together…” also draws attention to the collective production history of Maçka Art Gallery. "New Year Tree Forest" exhibition could be visited until 7 January 2022.
