Ömer Selçuk Baz
She was born in 1978 in Nuremberg, Germany. She completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Antakya. After earning her undergraduate degree from Bursa Uludağ University in 2002, she began her graduate studies at Vienna University of Technology. During her student years, she received awards in various national and international competitions. In parallel with her graduate studies, she participated in multiple architectural projects focused on residential and shopping centers at Atelier Stelzhammer in Vienna.
In 2005, she began practicing architecture professionally in Turkey after winning first prize in the competition for the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Bursa Branch. She has conducted studio courses in the graduate programs at Istanbul Kültür University and Bilgi University. She has also served on juries for various national competitions and award programs. Her major projects, developed with the Yalın Mimarlık team, include the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (1st Prize), Troy Museum (1st Prize), Riyadh Mosque (1st Prize), Cappadocia Museum, Zonguldak Caves Visitor Center, and the Korean War Memorial and Visitor Center (1st Prize).
Since 2011, she has continued her work under Yalın Mimarlık, a practice she co-founded with her urban planner partner Okan Bal.
