Maçka Art Gallery opened its season with OYUN, a work by sculptor Seyhun Topuz, on September 24.

The work consists of 25 cube modules, each measuring 40 × 40 × 40 cm, arranged to form a square measuring 2 × 2 meters.

Each of the six faces of the cubes features an image of one of six sculptures selected from Topuz’s previous exhibitions. Each image is divided into 25 equal parts and distributed across the cube surfaces.

Topuz invites viewers to participate in a dynamic, interactive game in which they can rearrange or rotate the cubes to create their own image of one of her works on the square surface, choosing from millions of possible combinations.

Through the participation of the viewer, OYUN reconsiders the relationship between sculpture, image, and space, transforming the experience of the artwork into an open-ended and exploratory encounter.
