Serhat Kiraz brings together the ten basic digits from 0 to 9 that form the foundation of the decimal number system with the three primary colors—red, blue, and yellow—within an algorithmic structure. Drawing on visual analysis, coding theory, color theory, and semiotics, Kiraz maps the digits onto the three primary colors, creating layered, semi-transparent effects.

In this ternary coding system, in which each digit operates within a three-state logic, certain combinations of digits generate secondary and tertiary colors, while the overlapping areas where the digits intersect give rise to colors produced through superimposition. The different tones he uses for the gray areas and colors, meanwhile, create spaces in which the artist moves beyond the algorithm and pushes the boundaries of uniqueness.

The visual algebra and mathematics of color concealed within Serhat Kiraz’s works transform into a visual symphony through the resonance of musical triads. Within an algorithmic framework, the artist redesigns mathematics, color theory, and aesthetics as a fully immersive sensory experience, offering new perspectives on standard digits.
